The tour leaves from the barnyard at 10am and will cover the vegetable fields, pasture, and livestock areas.

"I’m excited to introduce everyone on the tour to this bountiful landscape. I plan to have everybody eating their way through the farm as we walk around. We will also see and feel the plants that will power the farm next year: cover crops, forages and next year’s grains have already sprouted. Come celebrate the fun of farming with me and all of the plants and animals of Essex Farm.” - Mark Kimball

Participants should bring all-weather clothing and sturdy rubber boots and expect a long walk over rough terrain. There will be a potluck lunch at noon in the farmyard. Bring a dish to share and your own place setting. After lunch, there will be an optional self-guided hike along the farm roads to some of the farm’s more remote areas.

Essex Farm is located at 2503 NYS Route 22 in Essex, one mile from the Essex-Charlotte ferry. The tour will take place rain or shine. Suggested donation: $25 adults; $5 children.
